Obama's Meddling

I was going to watch the Obama Show last night, but I went out to dinner with my family instead. But from what I have read and heard, the president didn't say anything new; rather, he took some tips from Joe Biden and plagiarized....The Matrix, no less.

"If there's a blue pill and a red pill, and the blue pill is half the price of the red pill and works just as well, why not pay half price for the thing that's going to make you well?"

Now compare that with his other recent statement:

"Maybe you're better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller."

Is the president's so-called blue pill the painkiller? It would essentially "make you well," or at least give you the illusion of being well. But hey, it's cheaper.

Remember this April 30th statement?

"You just get into some very difficult moral issues” when considering whether “to give my grandmother, or everybody else’s aging grandparents or parents, a hip replacement when they’re terminally ill."

If it's a moral issue, why is the government getting involved? It can't touch abortion, but somehow it can touch personal medical decisions? It is none of the government's business if, at 90 years old, I want to get a pacemaker and take the chance that I could live another few years. Obama needs to learn that no one wants him and the government meddling in personal medical decisions. No one wants there to be a person, bureau, or what have you, in between them and their doctor. I am not looking forward to the day where someone I or someone I know is denied treatment because it is too expensive [luckily this guy has a shot at life again].


The President is trying, and failing, to garner the amount of support he needs to get this done. And hopefully, this will be the beginning of the end for him. A lot of people think that this is his defining moment. He will either be successful and then be truly unstoppable, or he will fail and never be able to come back from from it. I'm praying for the latter.
