Obama has a genius moment.

"'We can’t keep on just borrowing from China,' Obama said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. “We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.'"

Really, Mr. President? You say this now after signing off trillions!? And stop taking tea party goers' slogans (mortgaging out children's future).

"He's talking up "spending cuts" even as he spends more and more. And he's selling his universal health care rationing program as some kind of savings, because, somehow, this will drive costs down. Or somethin'.

"I think we sort of know where this is headed. He's going to pull the old con man/manipulative move of talking around a possibility, until it ultimately starts occurring to people "Hey, maybe we need to raise taxes on ourselves!"

"At which point Obama will exclaim, "Wow, what an interesting idea! ...Golly Gee Willickers, that sure seems to make a tremendous amount of sense! Sorta cuts the Gordian Knot right in half with a decisive chop, doesn't it? You really are a very smart person, you know that? Here, have a cookie." (ace of spades)

I don't think anyone wants to keep borrowing from China. We make their economy stronger as ours grows weaker (although they have been talking about defecting from the US which is the worst possible thing they can do...)

Still, I don't understand why some people do not like the idea of universal healthcare. The piece of mind that if something happens to you, your life as you know it doesn't grind to a screeching halt.

I had a near fatal case of appendicitis that cost $35,000. I did nothing wrong, ate well, lifted weights 4 times a week and played in a racquetball season. Then one day I start feeling awful and my appendix ruptured. No way to forsee that. And if I didn't have insurance, I'd have no way to pay that, a $40,000 undergrad bill, $100,000 graudate school bill, and every day bills... I can barely pay for my school loans as it is.

So if not universal healthcare, then I'm curious to know what the better solution is?

Shhhhh, I am waiting for the day when he'll say "Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem". My $20 says he'll do it if the polls show a tendency of people being scared of big government, while he signs the "Bank Nationaliza---scratch that--- Generational Financial Enablement Act" into law.

I know I am being very optimistic here, but maybe some MSMs will call on these words when the $3.5 trillion budget with the $1.8 T deficit is being discussed.

Universal healthcare is a bad idea. Namely because it eliminates competition, which eliminates better drugs, techniques, procedures, etc. Why do people from all over the world come HERE to be treated? Because we have the best treatments. And why? Because we don't have universal healthcare, like Canada and the UK do. Waiting lists in those countries are months and months long.

We can't? Does Obambi know that?

Law, Obama Nation is right about the health care. I'm a nurse and I do not want the government dictating my treatments, doctors, or just about anything else. Also, mortgaging our children's future was John McCain's line oft repeated by Hannity on Fox.

I haven't had internet in the few days, hope I'm not too late to offer a response...

As I understand it, nothing about the helathcare system changes, except people who don't have a lot of money can buy into a government based healthcare plan. This plan obviously is not going to be as comprehensive as a private plan. If anything, that would step up competition. It would be just like edcuation... every American has the right to an education, but those who can afford better can put their kids in a private school to get a "better" education (I'm a teacher, and I think that stat is debatable). The purpose of the plan is not to have full government control of healthcare, but rather provide coverage for people who can't afford the private (and in all likelihood better) insurance.

Makes a ton of sense to me.

This quote was right on the money, if not a year too late. Can you believe Obama would actually say this? Have you seen what he said today about the US being out of money?

Thanks for following my blog. I appreciate it.
